Necator Americanus is one of two different types of hookworms in the Nematoda phylum. A hookworm is a kind of a parasite that when it is in its adult stage it will hook on to the inner intestine of the host and feed off the blood. Hookworms are a huge problem for human's since they can cause all kinds of diseases. The Necator Americanus is primarily found in the Americas and (just if you were wandering) in the United States of America these worms are found on the southern/southwester areas. In order to survive the Necator Americanus must live in tropical temperatures otherwise the eggs will not be able to hatch.
The Necator Americanus does not have a skeleton because it is a Nematode. It's anatomical features though are a cylindrical body with a cuticle made up of three main layers made of collagen. This collagen is made by the epidermis and protects the hookworm from anything harmful inside the host the hookworm is within. The hookworm has a thing called cutting plates which allows it to make deep cuts into the small intestine to create bleeding in order to obtain its foo.
