The one thing you don't want to eat is the Cestoda or better known as the tapeworm. This parasite grows and develops inside it's hosts body and feeds off the hosts nutrients found in the gut. The way it feeds is interesting because since it is a part of the Platyhelminthes phylum it diffuses the nutrients into its body. The tapeworm has no digestive system. In order to absorb as many nutrients a tapeworm can it has tiny wrinkles on it's surface that can be changed to find the best way to absorb the nutrients. Another way tapeworms find a better way to get more nutrients is by sticking its head to the intestine and using suckers. Since tapeworms live inside other organism's bodies, they have no eyes and because they diffuse nutrients into their bodies they don't have a mouth. Instead the have hooks on their head called a Scolex. Behind the Scolex the tapeworm contains reproductive segments that are called Proglottids. These Proglottids contain both ova and sperms so that makes a tapeworm a hermaphrodite.
Like other Platyhelminthes, Tapeworms do not have a skeletal system because having a skeletal system would make it harder for tape worms to allow nutrients to diffuse through its body.
